NBA Commercial Law Section Pipeline Development Program Header


	A National Bar Association Affiliate

The NBA Arizona Diversity Pipeline Program ("NADPP") has adopted the following 8 high schools to participate in its "Give Back - High School Mock Trial Training Program", wherein the Pipeline Students are required to train (as part of their "Give Back" to the community) up 16 students at each high school to participate in the State Bar of Arizona High School Mock Trial Competition held in February and March of each year. NADPP selected the schools based on each schools need to increase graduation rates and reduce drop-out rates amongst the high number of minority students at each school and based on each schools lack of participation in the statewide competitions in prior years.

By participating in the NADPP High School Mock Trial Training Program, the 128 students participating in the program will be able to achieve many of the "No Child Left Behind" and Arizona academic standards, which include:

- effective oral, written, listening and communication skills
- critical thinking skills
- working individually and with teams to accomplish objectives
- historical reading, research and analytical skills

On February 12, 2009, the eight mock trial high school teams will participate in a pre-competition mock trial during the NADPP annual fundraiser that will be judged by special invited guests that will include Tim Flemming, General Counsel for Denny's along with other special invited general counsel from fortune 500 company's and invited NBA basketball players and NBA Legends attending the 2009 NBA All-Star Game hosted in Phoenix, Arizona at the U·S Airways Center.
